This matcha bowl comes from the Kiyomizu tradition of Kyoto, one of Japan's most refined ceramic lineages dating to the early Edo period. The exterior carries a soft matte grey-white glaze with quiet granular texture, while the interior settles into a cooler blue-grey tone. The exposed terracotta foot grounds the piece with warmth against the pale glaze above.
Wide and open in form, it sits comfortably in both hands.
