Sabi 錆 Tokoname Kyusu
From Tokoname, Aichi — one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, with a pottery tradition spanning over 900 years. This side-handle kyusu is crafted by Jinsui from unglazed red clay rich in iron, the same material that has defined Tokoname teapots for centuries.
The iron in the clay oxidizes during firing, giving the pot its signature reddish-brown hue. That same porosity gradually seasons with each brew — absorbing traces of tea over time, mellowing astringency, and deepening flavor in ways no glazed pot can replicate.
The ceramic inner mesh ensures a smooth, uninterrupted pour. Minimal in form, precise in function.
A teapot that improves with use.
