Nagare 流れ Kyusu Sand
From Tokoname, Aichi — one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, with a pottery tradition spanning over 900 years. This side-handle kyusu is crafted by Jinsui, a Tokoname-based kiln known for blending centuries-old technique with precise, modern execution.
Made from unglazed iron-rich clay, the teapot gradually seasons with each brew, absorbing traces of tea over time, mellowing astringency, and deepening flavor in ways no glazed pot can replicate. The natural manganese speckles that emerge during firing make every piece entirely its own.
The ceramic inner mesh ensures a smooth, uninterrupted pour — equally suited for sencha, gyokuro, or any loose leaf tea that deserves the right vessel.
A teapot that improves with use.
